Brief Description about Indian National Parks :-</div>

Currently there are over 80 national parks in India to serve this purpose. Each of these parks houses at least one unique species. India is a country famous for its <span class="wp_keywordlink"><a href="http://www.concepttravel.in/wildlife.html" style="color: #004276; text-decoration: initial;" title="wildlife ">wildlife </a></span>and animal resources. But people have become greedy these days. They hunt down the innocent animals just for fun and game. If this thing goes on, all of this natural <span class="wp_keywordlink"><a href="http://www.concepttravel.in/wildlife.html" style="color: #004276; text-decoration: initial;" title="wildlife ">wildlife </a></span>will be exterminated. To prevent this from happening, the government of India has established several wildlife sanctuaries in many different states across the country. This is done because India houses some of the rarest of the animal kind that can be found across the globe. A study has shown that India is one of the 17 countries that contribute to 70% of the words total biodiversity. Thus it is essential that wildlife must be preserved with much care.</div>

<strong>Jim Corbett national Park : </strong><span class="wp_keywordlink"><a href="http://www.concepttravel.in/wildlife-tours/delights-of-corbett.html" style="color: #004276; text-decoration: initial;" title="Corbett National Park">Corbett National Park</a></span> is one of the very first wildlife reserves to be established in India. It has an area spanning over 500 square kilometers in the Himalayan foothills. The park was first established back in the year 1936 under the name Hailey National Park, and was later changed to the name Ramganga National Park, before finally reaching its current name, <span class="wp_keywordlink"><a href="http://www.concepttravel.in/wildlife-tours/delights-of-corbett.html" style="color: #004276; text-decoration: initial;" title="Corbett National Park">Corbett National Park</a></span>. The park is known for its various types of wildlife as well one of the nine tiger reserves created during the launch of Project Tiger back in the year of 1973.</div>

<strong>Kaziranga National Park : </strong>The Kaziranga National Park was founded near the banks of the Brahmaputra River, the park can be found in the Golaghat and Nagaon districts of the state of Assam. The park has been honored as a world heritage site and is also home to two thirds of the world’s Great One-horned Rhinoceroses. Since its declaration as a tiger reserve back in the year 2006, Kaziranga National Park has become home to one of the highest densities of tigers in a protected area. The park is also famous as a breeding spot for elephants, wild water buffalos as well as swamp deer’s. The lands of the Kaziranga National Park are mostly consistent of elephant grass, marshland, and dense tropical forests.</div>

<strong>Periyar National Park : </strong>Periyar National Park is located in Periyar, which is a protected area located in the state of Kerala. The area of the park covers a massive area of 925 kilometer squares, with a total of 350 kilometers of that land being converted to form Periyar National Park. Much of the park is covered by undisturbed evergreen or semi-evergreen rain forests. This park is well known for its elephants and its mammals which total up to a total of 62 different species, many of which are endangered. The reserve is also home to a total of 53 tigers in a recent recording in the tear of 2010.</div>

<strong>Sariska Tiger Reserve : </strong>The Sariska Tiger Reserve can be found in the state of Rajastan. The area was originally a hunting reserve but was later converted into a wildlife reserve in the year 1955. In light with the launch of Project Tiger in India in the year 1978, the park also gained recognition as a tiger reserve. The area of the park spans over a massive total of 866 kilometer square. Some of the famous wildlife you can find in the Sariska Tiger Reserveissuch as the Bengal tigers, Four horned antelopes and the Rhesus monkeys. However tragedy struck the park in the year 2004 when it was declared that there were no longer anymore tigers in Sariska. One of the possible arguments brought up as a reason why was poaching.</div>

<strong>Sundarbans National Park : </strong>The Sundarbans National Par los a national park which also triples up as a tiger reserve as well as a Biosphere reserve. The park can be found in the Indian state of west Bengal and spans over an area of a total of 1330 square kilometers. It is a reserve which is well known for its status as one of the largest reserves of the Bengal tiger. It also houses a large variety of birds, reptiles, and invertebrate species including the extremely large salt-water crocodile. The park was originally just a tiger reserve back in the year 1973 but was later named a national park in the year 1984. The park boasts a total of 64 different species of plants. The park is also well known for its breathtaking beauty in the months of April and May when the scarlet red leaves of the Genwa and the yellow flowers from of the Khalsi plant can be seen. Besides that the Park is also home to over 400 tigers.</div>

<strong>Dhudhwa National Park : </strong>The Dhudhwa National Park is famous for being one of the tiger reserves in India and is located in Lakhim Pur Kgeei District of Uttar Pradesh. The national has an area which spans over an area of 81 square kilometers. The Park also boasts a variety of animals consisting of 38 species of mammals, 16 species of reptiles, 400 species of birds and 90 species of fish. The national park is also home to one of the rarest birds in the world, known as a Bengal Florican. The Bengal florican has a global population of 600 and 40-50 of those birds can be found in the national park.</div>

<strong>Gir forest national park : </strong>The most prominent national park of North India is probably the Gir forest national park. It is located in the state ofGujarat and was established in year 1931. The park extends to a total area of over 1400 km². It is the only home of Asia lions. Due to much effort by the government and other activists, the ecosystem is really well-balanced with a wide species of flora and fauna. The lion population in this park is over 400 thanks to its lion breeding program. This park has seven different perennial rivers flowing through it. It also has the biggest reservoir in the area. There are over 500 different plant species found in this area. This park also acts as a useful research area for biological studies. If producers several million kilos of grass whose value exceeds over US$10 million. It also acts as an important source of wood with providing over 10,000 metric tons of wood every year. The special Park has a rich species of fauna which includes over 30 different kinds of mammals, 300 different types of birds, a number of reptiles and a variety of insect species. The notable animals include Bengal tigers, Asian Lions, leopards, hyenas, Mongoose and antelopes.</div>

<strong>Bannerghatta national Park : </strong>The Bannerghatta national Park is another prominent wildlife sanctuary located in Karnataka state. It is a unique place and houses the largest zoological reserves covering an area of over 25,000 acres. This national park is very famous for its lion and tiger reserves. The white tiger among them is probably the most famous. Other species such as leopards and antelopes are also present here. This park has a small zoo which exhibits several reptiles and other small creatures. One of the most notable features of this park is that it has a butterfly park which extends up to 8 acres with over 20 different species of butterflies. Its biological reserve is also pretty amazing with lots of elephants, dear, leopards and other mammals.</div>

<strong>Buxa national Park : </strong>The Buxa national talk located in West Bengal adds to the famous national Parks of India. It extends a total area of 760 km². Its biggest attraction is the Buxa Tiger reserve. Animals such as civet, red jungle fowl and Tigers can be found here. It was the 15th Tiger reserve to be established and was constructed in the year 1983. It runs along the border of Bhutan. It has a rich species of flora with special type of orchids, grass and even aquatic flora. The prominent fauna includes Tiger,boar, elephants and sambar. Over 250 species of birds can be found here. One of the most notable things about this national park is that it has the highest density of fish species in the entire Bengal region. Regal Python can also be found here.</div>

<strong>Betla national Park : </strong>Betla national Park is situated in the state of Jharkhand. Its main attractions include elephants, tigers and monkeys. Under the project Tiger reserve, this park became the first in India to conserve tigers. It has a total area of over 1300 km². Animals such as deer mouse, horned antelope, sambar, wolf and elephants are prominent in this region.</div>

The St.John church which is amidst the wilderness is located in true natural ambience. This is the most beautiful monument here and the landscaped lawns filled with pine groves and beautiful surroundings make this a lovely place to see and a great place to pay respects to the heroes of the state of <strong class="StrictlyAutoTagBold">Himachal Pradesh</strong>.</div>

Then we had gone to the Kotwali Bazar where the absolutely beautiful sights of the <strong class="StrictlyAutoTagBold">Kangra Valley</strong>’s arts and crafts displayed the greatest artifacts and the most magnificent miniature paintings going back to the times immemorial. There are collections of pottery, sculptures, and anthropological items. the Shamianas and the dresses that were used by royalty, the jails, the old carved doors, pandals and lintels all add to the beauty around and the lovely displays of the coins, manuscripts and the jewellery is another thing to reckon with.</div>

The St.John Church was the next place I had been to and I was totally taken in by the lovely architecture of this church and the beautiful deodar trees which lent more beauty to the place than before. This memorial was built over the body of Lord Elgin who was the British Viceroy and who died here at <strong>Dharamshala</strong> in the year 1863. There is a graveyard here and this has a wall surrounding it. The entire terrain is laden with grass and the place was really very mesmerizing.</div>

McLeod ganj or <strong class="StrictlyAutoTagBold">Little Lhasa</strong> is the next place I went to. This is where His Holiness the <strong class="StrictlyAutoTagBold">Dalai Lama</strong> lives and has been here for more than 30years. The magnificent monastery has huge images of the Padmasambhava and Buddha and also Avalokteshwara. The architectural design and the traditional works here enthralled me and I was really amazed at the kind of structures and places that the <strong class="StrictlyAutoTagBold">Indian</strong> subcontinent has. The garments and the curios and the lovely sights around added to the lovely feeling.</div>

After this we went to Bhagsunath which is a land of absolutely beautiful fresh water springs, with the ancient temple which is around 11 km from <strong class="StrictlyAutoTagBold">Dharamshala</strong>. This is a famous picnic spot and the sight of the slate quarries here enchanted me.</div>

<strong class="StrictlyAutoTagBold">Kunal Pathri</strong> is a lovely three kilometre walk I took from the Kotwali bazaar and it is one of the most interesting activities here in the land of <strong class="StrictlyAutoTagBold">Dharamshala</strong>. It led up to the rock temple here. It was an exciting activity and perhaps the most memorable of my tours here.</div>

A tiny <a data-mce-href="http://www.concepttravel.in/hill-stations.html" href="http://www.concepttravel.in/hill-stations.html" title="Indian hill station"><strong>Indian hill station</strong></a> in the lap of <strong class="StrictlyAutoTagBold">Mother Nature</strong>, Berinag with its peaceful and gorgeous ambiance is a place worth seeing for sightseeing of Himalayan peaks such as Panchachuli and Nandadevi. Embellished with thick forests, lush valleys, gorgeous ravines and rich flora and fauna, Berinag is gorgeous scenery. Temperature touches freezing point during winters whereas summers are pleasant. Throughout our <strong class="StrictlyAutoTagBold">stay</strong> in the vicinity sudden accumulation of clouds causing rains was a common feature; the gorgeous emerald hues washed in rain water would look even more beautiful.</div>

<strong>Where to stay:</strong> Our <strong class="StrictlyAutoTagBold">stay</strong> was booked in advance at Kumaon Mandal Vikas’s bungalow. Passing a beautiful river and traversing through quaint forests we reached the bungalow which is located in Chokri region. The location was great and services efficient; other options for accommodation include private lodges.</div>

Views of snow capped peaks of majestic <strong class="StrictlyAutoTagBold">Himalayas</strong> are a perfect eye-candy. Apart from walking in the tea gardens and enjoying the scenic scenery we spent most of our <strong class="StrictlyAutoTagBold">time</strong> exploring its famous snake temples such as Dhaurinag, Kalinag, Feninag, Harinag temple and more. Also Tripura Devi Temple and Koteshwar Cave Temple were interesting sites. Other than these I particularly remember our <strong class="StrictlyAutoTagBold">visit</strong> to Kotmanya Deer Park which is home to abundance of musk deer. Locally called Kasturi Mrig, theseare a special species of deer with a substance with a penetrating odour. The aroma of Kasturi (musk) filled in the air can be smelled from far distances and further enhances the angelic <strong class="StrictlyAutoTagBold">beauty</strong> of the town almost surreal.</div>
