The mighty Himalayan ranges make a great sight for all the tourists coming to this part of the world. The Indiansubcontinent with all its magnificent grandeur and greatest travel pleasures is a feast to the eyes.
While here in the pristine surroundings of the Himalayan region, enjoy the travel attractions in the ambience of the Dhauladhar ranges of the Himalayas. Forming a great background, this is a greatly popular travel destination in this part of the world. Amidst all these travel attractions, the region of Dharamshala forms a great travel locale in this part of the world. With the lovely forests of pine and deodar trees, Dharamshalacertainly provides the tourists with what they crave for. The perfectly healthy environment, the attractive nature of the snowy terrain sets this place apart from the rest of the Indian destinations. This serene and tranquil region is filled with the most enchanting travel sights and in fact is also the headquarters of the Dalai Lama. LowerDharamshala is a commercial hub while the Upper Dharamshala is a lovely colonial locale with the most magnificent suburbs of Forsythganj and McLeodganj here in true British flavour.
The St.John church which is amidst the wilderness is located in true natural ambience. This was where theBritish Viceroy Lord Elgin breathed his last and was laid to rest sometime in the 19th century. With a large population of the Tibetan community here Dharamshala is certainly the perfect place to be in and has a great number of travel delights such as these to experience.
With many temples and equally interesting sights to see, Dharamshala comes with a great package of entertainment, fun and interesting places.
The War memorial is one such place which I went to see while I was at Dharamshala. This is the most beautiful monument here and the landscaped lawns filled with pine groves and beautiful surroundings make this a lovely place to see and a great place to pay respects to the heroes of the state of Himachal Pradesh.

Then we had gone to the Kotwali Bazar where the absolutely beautiful sights of the Kangra Valley’s arts and crafts displayed the greatest artifacts and the most magnificent miniature paintings going back to the times immemorial. There are collections of pottery, sculptures, and anthropological items. the Shamianas and the dresses that were used by royalty, the jails, the old carved doors, pandals and lintels all add to the beauty around and the lovely displays of the coins, manuscripts and the jewellery is another thing to reckon with.
I also visited the Dal Lake where the absolute beauty of the entire region enthralled me and the sight of the beautiful deodar trees filled the ambience with a serene and tranquil feeling and the mountain with the lovely lake in front of it gave this place every reason to become a picnicker’s paradise.
The St.John Church was the next place I had been to and I was totally taken in by the lovely architecture of this church and the beautiful deodar trees which lent more beauty to the place than before. This memorial was built over the body of Lord Elgin who was the British Viceroy and who died here at Dharamshala in the year 1863. There is a graveyard here and this has a wall surrounding it. The entire terrain is laden with grass and the place was really very mesmerizing.
McLeod ganj or Little Lhasa is the next place I went to. This is where His Holiness the Dalai Lama lives and has been here for more than 30years. The magnificent monastery has huge images of the Padmasambhava and Buddha and also Avalokteshwara. The architectural design and the traditional works here enthralled me and I was really amazed at the kind of structures and places that the Indian subcontinent has. The garments and the curios and the lovely sights around added to the lovely feeling.
After this we went to Bhagsunath which is a land of absolutely beautiful fresh water springs, with the ancient temple which is around 11 km from Dharamshala. This is a famous picnic spot and the sight of the slate quarries here enchanted me.

Kunal Pathri is a lovely three kilometre walk I took from the Kotwali bazaar and it is one of the most interesting activities here in the land of Dharamshala. It led up to the rock temple here. It was an exciting activity and perhaps the most memorable of my tours here.
Dharamkot is another place I went to and I was simply mesmerized to see the lovely panoramic view from the top of the hill Station here. This is also a greatly popular picnic spot and one gets perfect views of the Kangra Valleyand also the Dhauladhar ranges here. Again around 11 km from Dharamshala this is a popular place to visit near this lovely land of pleasures.
Dharamshala is accessed by air. Gaggal is the nearest airport and Patalkot is the nearest railway station.
With the most fascinating sights and  ideal travel experiences of snow in the months of January and February,Dharamshala is certainly a great locale to be in.
