Khajuraho:
The World heritage site Khajuraho is home to 22 erotic temples devoted to pleasure the sexuality of humans. Temples provide the evidence of origin of Kama Sutra in India and were built during the reign of Chandela Kings around eleventh and twelfth century AD. Khajuraho temples are categorized into 3 groups:
• Western: Shows Kandariya Mahadeo Temple.
• Eastern: features sculptured Jain temples.
• Southern: Contains two temples only.
• Eastern: features sculptured Jain temples.
• Southern: Contains two temples only.
Gwalior
Gwalior, once ruled by dynasties of Raput such as Kacchwahas, Pratiharas and Tomars is endowed with the glorious heritage structures. It takes only two hours drive from city of Taj Mahal ‘Agra’ to reach Gwalior which includes temples and palaces as main attraction for sightseeing. The most prominent among them is a hilltop fort overlooking the city. Its history dates back to 1000 years and Man Mandir Palace is one of its charismatic monuments. Base of the hill is nourishing the Old Town of Gwalior.
Orchha
Still want to dive into the historical past of Madhya Pradesh, take a visit of historical town Orchha. Orchha is an ancient town with ‘Puranic’ connections. Thus, exhibits the charm of well preserved temples and palaces along with essence of medieval era. Located 75 kms away from Gwalior, Orchha had been ruled by Bundela Rajputs. Bandhavgarh National Park
Tempting to see the Indian majestic animal tiger, “Bandhavgarh National Park” is the ideal site to spot them, especially the white tiger. However, it’s a bit difficult to reach but once you will be there, the park will grace you with the view of picturesque serenity of nature and biodiversity. Founded in the year 1968, the park is sprawled over an area of 105 km2. Besides tigers – leopards, the gaur, sambar, nilgai, Indian wolf, hyena and caracal are its main attractions.
